White House Summit:  Resilient Building Codes

Evan Reis, Senior Managing Engineer at Hinman Consulting Engineers, attended the White House Summit on Resilient Building Codes, on May 10, 2016. The White House hosted the conference to highlight the critical role of building codes in furthering community resilience and the importance of incorporating resilience and the future impacts of climate change in the codes and standards development process. The Administration highlighted Federal and private sector efforts aimed at advancing the principles of resilience in building codes and standards, and building design.

Hinman to Testify Before State Senate Committee

On May 14, Evan Reis will testify before the California Senate Insurance Committee on the value of a buildings rating system for natural and manmade perils such as earthquakes, hurricanes, fire and blast. The hearing is scheduled for 1:30pm in Room 112 of the State Capitol.
