Support lead engineers in analyzing and designing structures for response to highly dynamic loads. Perform advanced structural analysis to evaluate the inelastic response (up to and including failure) of structural elements. Write reports with graphics for client presentations. Review plans for conformance with our recommendations. Travel for site visits may be required.
Successful candidates have a minimum Master of Science degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, have taken courses in structural fire, structural dynamics, vibrations, and inelastic response, finite element methods, and have experience working with Matlab, SAP2000 Nonlinear, DYNA3D, LS-DYNA, and Revit.
For this position, it will be critical for the candidate to be experienced in structural fire analysis. In particular, candidate must be capable of evaluating structural response for a range of fire scenarios and materials using thermal transmission principles. Knowledge of state of the art methods of testing, mitigation, and passive fire protection rating approaches is necessary.
