GSA Tier 1 Seismic Evaluations for Federal Buildings

Hinman was engaged through its Blast/Seismic IDIQ with the U.S. General Services Administration to perform seismic evaluations of 24 existing GSA Region 10 buildings. The buildings in the portfolio ranged in age from 20 to more than 80 years, from one story to ten and structural types that included: steel frames, reinforced concrete, masonry and wood.

Hinman performed engineering calculations to determine the presence of potentially significant structural deficiencies.

Hinman performed a Tier 1 Level screening, based on a review of the existing building drawings where available, to identify potential deficiencies.

Hinman performed engineering calculations to determine the presence of potentially significant structural deficiencies.

Hinman conducted site visits to the facilities to document existing building conditions and seismic restraint of non- structural system.

Hinman produced reports on each building for GSA to use as part of its long term seismic mitigation and risk reduction program.
