Hinman evaluated the GSA owned Phillip Burton Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse located in downtown San Francisco, CA.
The building is a steel moment frame building and is 21 stories high and approximately 1,427,974 sf. housing around 2,700 employees.
Our assessments entailed the evaluation and development of conceptual retrofit designs for the whole building
The primary objective of the window upgrades is to reduce the risk posed by flying glass and debris produced as window systems fail under blast loads.
Hinman provided two Window Vulnerability Assessments for a medium then high level of protection in accordance with the ISC Security Design Criteria (ISC) for air-blast loading effects.
Our assessments of the Phillip Burton Federal Building entailed the evaluation and development of conceptual retrofit designs for the whole building, and development of conceptual retrofit designs at the floors to be occupied by the FBI.
