Jaeyoon Kim is a Project Engineer at Hinman. Prior to joining Hinman he involved in several research projects sponsored by DOE, DOT, and DTRA during his PhD and MS study. His research focused on topology optimization for civil structures under seismic, wind, impact, and extreme dynamic loading conditions.
He has expertise in computational programing to model concrete and steel structures with nonlinearities and progressive cracking using Mathlab, Python, and ABAQUS. He also worked as a civil engineer for 4 years in South Korea focusing on project management for bridge projects.
Jaeyoon received his doctorate in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from West Virginia University, BS in Civil Engineering from Chonnam National University, and MS in Structural Engineering from University of Florida. He is a registered Professional Engineer in California.
