Mona Zahedi has recently joined Hinman as a Project Engineer, after graduating with a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Pennsylvania State University. Her research included non-destructive testing for early-age damage detection in concrete (using non-linear resonant ultrasound spectroscopy and dynamic acousto-elastic testing techniques), supplementary cementitious materials, and concrete durability.
Prior to her M.Sc., she worked as a Structural Engineer on the design of reinforced concrete residential, commercial and administrative complexes.
Her current position at Hinman involves the analysis of structural response to extreme events with a focus on the development of cost-effective mitigation strategies as part of the design and construction phase.
During her weekends she enjoys oil painting, playing tennis and catching up with the latest documentaries.
